How to export articles and charts from Smart Folders
You can export article data and charts from Smart Folders to use in reports, presentations or newsletters.
Export articles from a Smart Folder
Export article data as a CSV file to analyse coverage or build reports.
1. Open a Smart Folder
Go to Smart Folders and open the folder containing your coverage.
2. Go to the Articles tab
Select Articles to view all article mentions in the folder.
3. Select the articles
Tick the checkboxes next to the articles you want to export.
You can select multiple articles at once.
4. Download the export
Click Actions in the top-right of the table and select Download as CSV.
5. Choose your export fields
In the Download as CSV window, select the fields you want to include.
Examples include:
- Summary
- Spokespeople mentioned
- Outlet
- Journalists
- URL
- Topics
- Journalist engagement
Click Download to export the file.
Export charts from the Analysis dashboard
You can export charts from the Analysis tab for use in reports or presentations.
1. Open the Analysis tab
Navigate to a Smart Folder and select Analysis.
This dashboard shows charts such as:
- Total mentions
- Coverage over time
- Coverage by salience
- Coverage by media type
2. Open the chart menu
On the chart you want to export, click the three-dot menu.
3. Select an export format
Available export options include:
- CSV data as file
- CSV data copied to clipboard
- Chart image as PNG
Chart image as PDF Choose the format that suits your reporting needs.
Use exported charts in newsletters
Charts exported as images can be added to manual newsletters.
1. Export the chart
Export the chart from the Analysis tab as a PNG or PDF.
2. Open the newsletter editor
Go to Newsletters and open the manual newsletter editor.
3. Add the chart
Use the Image block to upload the exported chart.
This allows you to include visual coverage insights in stakeholder updates.
When to export data vs charts
Use CSV exports when you want to:
- Analyse coverage data
- Build detailed reports
- Work with data in spreadsheets
Use chart exports when you want to:
- Share visual insights
- Include charts in presentations
- Add graphics to newsletters
