We’ve recruited some of the UK’s most respected editors and freelance writers to determine which of your entries represent true excellence. With longstanding experience of working with PRs, our judges understand what it takes to communicate a story with precision and efficiency and will be looking for these qualities and more in the entries they assess.

Grazia
Joining Grazia in 2008 as a Features Writer, then Assistant Editor and Editor of GraziaDaily.co.uk she then joined The Debrief in 2013 as Editor. After that she became Deputy Lifestyle Director at The Telegraph and oversaw all fashion & lifestyle content. In 2018, she returned to Grazia as Editor, managing print and online.

Sarah Tomczak

Red Magazine
Red Magazine’s new Editor-in-Chief, Sarah was Editor for six years before being promoted in 2023. She now oversees editorial content and strategy for the Hearst title. Before joining Red as Deputy Editor in 2013, she worked at publications such as The Daily Mail, Glamour, Shine and US Weekly.

Laura Atkinson

Sunday Times Style
A former Features Editor at Grazia, Laura has been at Sunday Times Style magazine since 2012, when she joined as Features Editor. In 2016 she was promoted to Deputy Editor and in 2020 she took the helm, leading the paper’s coverage of fashion, beauty and lifestyle articles.

Sonia Haria

Beauty Director
The Daily Telegraph
Focusing on the beauty and wellness sectors, Sonia has been Beauty Director at The Telegraph since 2016. She joined the Telegraph Group in 2007 as an Intern at Stella and worked her way through the publication to Beauty Editor in 2013. During her journalism career, she also conducted a number of high-profile interviews with Hollywood stars and politicians.

Cassie Steer

Freelance
Health & Beauty Editor
Finishing her role as Acting Beauty Editor-At-Large at Grazia, Cassie has returned to life as a Freelance Health and Beauty Editor, Writer and Consultant. She has previously written for Marie Claire and Glamour as well as holding the title of Beauty Director at both Stylist and InStyle.

Helen McGinn

Daily Mail, Waitrose Food magazine
International wine judge and drinks writer for Waitrose Food, the Daily Mail’s Femail magazine and ITV’s This Morning, Helen is also the author of The Knackered Mother’s Wine Guide. She has won various awards for her blogs such as Fortnum & Mason’s Online Drinks Writer of the Year, Red Magazine’s Best Blogger and Britmums Outstanding Blog Award

Helena Nicklin

The Daily Mail and The Sun
Award-winning freelance wine and spirits writer and broadcaster Helena has twenty-four years of experience in the drinks industry. She regularly writes for the Daily Mail, The Sun and for BA’s High Life and Luxury Lifestyle Magazine. She recently launched her own lifestyle podcast and e-magazine, flockandhive.com.

Laura Craik

Freelance Fashion Writer
The Telegraph, Sunday Times Style, Grazia
Covering fashion regularly for The Telegraph, Sunday Times STYLE, the Daily Mail, the Evening Standard, ELLE, Grazia and 10 Magazine, Laura has been a freelance fashion writer since 2014. She was previously Fashion Editor at The Times, the Evening Standard and The Guardian and a weekly columnist for seven years at both ES Magazine and Grazia. 

Tamison O'Connor

Fashion Features Director
ELLE
An alumni of the Business of Fashion, Tamison started as Elle UK’s Fashion Features Director in March 2024, working across print and digital channels covering fashion news, trends and sustainability. She has also written for titles including Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

Ajesh Patalay

Food Columnist
The Financial Times
Food columnist for FT How to Spend it since 2020, Ajesh is an award winning Editor and Writer with nearly twenty years in the industry. He has written stories with A-list interviewees such as Meryl Streep, Benedict Cumberbatch and Emma Watson, and also contributes to British GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, and PORTER magazine.

Lisa Markwell

Overseeing all content across Telegraph Magazine, Lisa recently was appointed Head of Long Reads at The Telegraph in addition to her role as Editor of Telegraph Magazine. Previously the Editor at The Independent on Sunday, Lisa’s other recent roles include food editor at The Telegraph and The Sunday Times; editor, CODE Hospitality, plus freelance writing for The Guardian, ELLE, Red and Christie’s.

Peta Bee

For over two decades, Peta has been writing content for The Times & Sunday Times, specialising in health, fitness, sports science, relationships, and parenting features. She also produces a weekly column called ‘Three ways to…’ and contributes to the weekend edition with celebrity-led features or round-ups on health and fitness products.

Mirandi Larbi

Stylist
Since 2020, Miranda has been heading up the Health and Fitness platform at Stylist, Strong Women. She covers diet, wellness, fitness, and sleep. Prior to this, she has written for publications such as The Sun, Metro.co.uk, The Times, and Buzzfeed and writes her own Substack blog.

James Stewart

An award-winning freelance journalist, James writes regularly for UK national newspapers including The Times, The Telegraph, The Financial Times and The Guardian. He also features in magazines such as Conde Nast Traveller and you may occasionally catch him on BBC and Times Radio.

Richard Mellor

Freelance Travel Writer
The Times and Metro
Previously a travel PR, Richard now writes for the Metro, The Times, The Daily Telegraph, Guardian, Condé Nast Traveller, and The Mail on Sunday. Although he focuses mainly on travel, Richard does cover some food and drink, lifestyle, news, and all things London-based pieces.
