Easter Bunnies
Maybe it’s just me, but Easter hits differently this year. Perhaps this is because it’s the first one we’ve been able to celebrate with our distant families since Christ Himself rose, or so it feels. Understandably, there is a lot of pent-up demand – and not just to gorge on chocolate, though that, too. There is also a lot of pent-up demand in the PR world when it comes to attaching your product to Easter, no matter how spurious the link.
Obviously, I’ve been pitched a Rabbit Vibrator and a Love Egg, for no public holiday escapes the enthusiasm of the sex toy PR. I’ve also been pitched a story about how chocolate is good for your hair.
In terms of fashion stories, I’ve been pitched those two Easter perennials – florals and yellow – which may sound unimaginative, but in fact can be useful, particularly since warm weather is forecast over the long weekend, which will no doubt drive people to replenish their wardrobes.
And for those who don’t want, or can’t afford, to buy new, there’s Marks and Spencer’s clothing rental launch, on rental site Hire Steet, which the press release emphasised would be available in time for Easter. So yes, Easter is a time for food and family, but it’s also, increasingly, a fertile time for fashion.
What Laura Thinks… I just love this press release – partly because I love daffs, but also because it’s genuinely interesting, and therefore, useful. The perfect purse-friendly flower? I think so. |
