Major updates: Press release tracker

Ever spent time sifting through your monitoring to find coverage from your latest press release?

Good news – you can automatically track this with Roxhill to demonstrate results.

Read on to find out how. Plus, a raft of updates, all designed to make your software smoother, smarter, and more insightful.

Instantly analyse results with press release tracker

Following up with individual journalists and tagging coverage from your press releases is a time-consuming task.

Roxhill’s Press Release Tracker now automatically connects the dots for you, with detailed analytics on who has opened your emails and covered your news.

How it works:

When you send a press release through the Roxhill Media Database, your Roxhill Media Monitoring will automatically pick it up and organise into a Smart Folder for instant analysis. You’ll get:

  • Instant analytics on coverage based on your press release.
  • The journalists that covered your news, plus who opened your email and who didn’t. Then, add journalists to lists in the Media Database for a smarter follow up.
  • Clear, comprehensive analytics that you can export for reporting, so your impact is impossible to miss!

Forward planner

Our new forward planner helps you stay ahead of great PR opportunities.

We’ll help you spot key moments to plan PR activity well in advance. It brings together notable dates including awareness days, holidays, elections, financial moments and major sporting events.

Now it’s easier than ever to identify opportunities and plan timely, high impact campaigns.

And of course, we’ve included all of Roxhill’s upcoming events, too.

Competitors: more control, clearer insights

We’ve rolled out significant upgrades to how you manage, analyse, and monitor competitor activity:

Independent competitor management
Competitors are now fully separated from your main entity settings, giving you finer control over how you track them. You can now add or remove competitors independently and even backfill competitor articles up to three months.

Flexible metric configuration
You can configure metrics separately for all articles or custom smart folders, as well as for the competitor’s smart folder. This includes standard salience and sentiment metrics, custom metrics, and premium metrics like Intelli Categories, Intelli Labels, and ESG Themes.

New competitor drilldowns
Drilldowns are now implemented across the entire Competitors analysis section, enabling deeper analysis of competitive coverage.

Newsletters: more transparency & flexibility

This release makes newsletters more informative and customisable than ever.

New performance statistics
Newsletter analytics now includes two new charts: Opened vs. Unopened and Sent vs. Bounced, providing clearer insight into who is engaging in your updates.

Newsletter PDF exports
Monitoring newsletters can now be downloaded as a PDF for a coverage book you can share with stakeholders. The PDF includes your logo, and you can customise it with a front cover image.

New preview controls
When using an automatic newsletter template, you can now choose whether to send a preview email before distribution.

Entity mentions in bold
Entities that appear in headlines or summaries are now highlighted in bold for improved visibility.

Frequently Asked Questions

You will find analytics on your tracked press releases in the ‘Press Releases’ smart folder in your Roxhill monitoring workspace. If you don’t yet use Roxhill to send releases, you can upload them here too.

If you already use Roxhill’s media monitoring and have a single workspace on your account then you’re all set – we will automatically track any release you send through the Distribution tool in the database.

If you have multiple monitoring workspaces – currently we won’t automatically track but you can switch tracking on for any press release up to 7 days after you’ve sent your release in the workspace you want to track it in.

See the steps to manually add a press release to track, in the walkthrough at the top of this page. You can set the start date to pull in results up to 7 days after you’ve published a press release.

To stop tracking a specific press release, hit the ‘X’ next to the release name or you can delete a release using the bin icon to remove it from the list of releases being tracked.
