Alex Northcott, our CEO, founded the original PR database Gorkana in 2004, sold it in 2010, and returned in 2015 with a desire to better the system.

Roxhill’s functionality goes above and beyond the traditional telephone directory, and we strive to help educate PRs in the changing world across both professions – PR and Journalism.

Meet the team

Alex Northcott

CEO

Alex founded Roxhill Media in 2015. He was the founder of Gorkana in 2003 and sold the business to Durrants in 2010, which became the Gorkana GroupGorkana group was sold to Cision in 2014. He has over 18 years’ experience in the PR industry having worked at Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan. 

Alessia Horwich

Editorial Director 

Alessia is the Editorial Director at Roxhill Media. She leads all our consumer webinars and works with the top newspaper and magazine editors in the UK to help PRs deliver high quality stories and secure excellent coverage. She is also a journalist who has spent the last decade travelling the globe, writing stories for UK national newspapers such as The Sunday Times, where she spent eight years on the travel desk, first as Digital Travel Editor and then Commissioning Editor. She continues to write for titles such as The Telegraph, The i Paper and The Independent.

Michael Davies

Director

Michael joined Roxhill Media in 2015. He hosts our business webinars and works on the sales team. He has over 20 years’ of working within the communications industry having worked in agency and at KPMG. In 2006 he joined Gorkana, now part of Cision, to head its corporate PR offering. 

Debbie Potts

Director

Debbie joined Roxhill in 2016 after a PR career spanning over 25 years, spent in leading consultancies Citigate Dewe Rogerson and Smithfield Consultants (now part of the Edelman Group). At Roxhill Media, she oversees the client management team.

Phil Godson

Director

Phil joined Roxhill Media in 2015 and leads Roxhill’s sales team. Prior to this he worked at Gorkana (now part of Cision) and was the UK Sales Director from 2008.

Rob Ingram

Director, USA

Rob joined Roxhill Media in 2019 as the Sales Director responsible for the U.S. He has over 25 years of industry experience as a reporter covering the bond markets as well as a PR executive in the financial services and technology sectors. He joined Gorkana in 2007 as US Director and prior to joining Roxhill Media had his own PR agency.

Emma Cripwell

Publicity Consultant

Emma is a media consultant for Roxhill Media and the Publicity Director for The Pig Hotels. After a career working in publicity for Berry Bros. & Rudd and Ann Scott Associates, Emma founded her own consultancy. Angel Publicity, was comprised of a travel division and children’s books division. In August 2016, she sold Angel Publicity to Paul Charles, Richard Branson’s former communications director. Paul formed The PC Agency where Emma was the Managing Director of a 23-strong company. Emma left The PC Agency in 2018.
