The cowgirl core aesthetic
Western-inspired fashion is the trend of SS24 – thanks in no small part to Beyoncé personifying her country era and the cowgirl-ification of Bella Hadid. (Plus, Dua Lipa’s never-fading ‘cowgirl copper’ locks help, too.) Beyond early adoption by the lauded, and the countless content creators speaking to the topic, the aesthetic is runway-approved too: everyone from Molly Goddard to Louis Vuitton and Chloé have demonstrated the trend’s breadth and durability.
But while much has been penned of styling this season’s fringed jackets and cowboy hats/boots/shirts, there’s little to read on the western beauty look to wear with these wardrobe staples. Yet.
There are references aplenty out there though, including pigtail braids snaking beneath said cowboy hats, and the post-braid waves that result when the hair is unravelled. There’s sun-baked blush and bronzer, lived-in eyeliner, and copper chrome nails, among others.
As I’ve only received one press release hooked on western-esque beauty (thank you Brand Agency London!), I thought it was worth prompting y’all to consider it as an angle.
Whether hooked on soaring searches for ‘cowgirl glam’ and the likes, insights into what the influential are using to achieve the aesthetic, or sales stats relating to a key aspect of the trend, I’m all eyes and ears.
And – elsewhere this week and next – should you have relevant suggestions I’m working on stories centred on glycolic acid and niacinamide-based skincare, and luxe lip plumping products… Thank you as ever.
What Bridget thinks…
“The exact perfumes worn by A-listers and royals on their wedding days is utterly intriguing, and this lengthy press release is packed with info and ideas to spark stories. Thank you Escentual.”
