Computer hacking of large companies and personal privacy issues are among the biggest stories of our times.

Here is how much the typical business hack knows about the mechanics of these issues, as a score out of ten.

This includes those of us who may have written about such matters with apparent authority. We’re relying on actual experts to put it into English. So we can get through the news conference and get something in the paper that isn’t stupid.

There wass a good effort from a global cybersecurity specialist on the latest computer breach, this time at BA.

It’s short, punchy, quotable and goes some way to explaining what really went wrong. We are left with confidence that the expert could answer further questions with sense.

The need for more of this is bigger than my inbox indicates.
