Hal Hodson has now started his new role as Asia Tech Correspondent at The Economist, based in Hong Kong. He was previously based in London and San Francisco for the publication.


David Hughes, Press Association


David Hughes has been appointed Political Editor at the Press Association. He will be taking over from Andrew Woodcock, who is joining The Independent as Political Editor.


Catherine Brahic, The Economist


Catherine Brahic is now Enviromental Editor at The Economst. She was previously a Science Correspondent at the title.


Tom Dines, Investors Chronicle


Tom Dines has changed beats to cover retail, including supermarkets. Nilushi Karunratne replaces Tom on these beats at Investors Chronicle and will be covering utilities, support services and recruiters.


Phoebe Weston, The Independent


Phoebe Weston is joining The Independent on 6 May as a Science Correspondent. She is currently a Future London Reporter at the Evening Standard.


Kate Beioley, Financial Times


Kate Beioley is on secondment on the retail beat at the Financial Times for the next month, and will be focusing on AI and automation, new retail platforms and anything to do with the future of shops / shopping. She usually covers investing and personal finance for FT Money.


Alex Hamer, Investors Chronicle


Alex Hamer is now a Reporter at Investors Chronicle. He was previously in the same role at Mining Journal.


Sam Richardson, Which? Money


Sam Richardson becomes Deputy Editor of Which? Money. He was previously Deputy Editor at Lovemoney.


Harriet Russell, The Daily Telegraph


Harriett Russell has joinged The Daily Telegraph as a Business Reporter, covering financial services. She was previously a Section Editor at Investors Chronicle.


Sam Brodbeck, The Daily Telegraph


Sam Brodbeck has been appointed Personal Finance Editor at The Daily Telegraph. He was previously Deputy Personal Finance Editor at the publication. Lauren Davidson remains Head of Personal Finance.


Deirdre Hipwell, Bloomberg


Deirdre Hipwell starts her new role as a Retail Correspondent at Bloomberg today. She was previously Retail and M&A Editor at The Times.


Henry Mance, Financial Times


Henry Mance has finished as Political Correspondent at the Financial Times and will shortly be taking on the new role of Chief Features Writer at the publicaqtion, and will be spending the next three months in San Francisco focusing on tech as a Nikkei-FT Fellow


Dan Sabbagh, The Guardian


Dan Sabbagh has now started his new role as Defense and Security Editor at The Guardian. He was previously an Associate Editor at the title.


Peter Spiegel, Financial Times


Peter Spiegel starts as US Managing Editor at the Financial Times in New York. He was previously News Editor at the publication in London.


Henry Saker-Clark, Press Association


Henry Saker-Clark has been appointed City Reporter at the Press Association. He was previously City Reporter at The Grocer.


Kate Allen, Financial Times


Kate Allen has been appointed International Economy News Editor at the Financial Times. She was previously Capital Markets Correspondent.


Matthew Garrahan, Financial Times


Matthew Garrahan starts as News Editor at the Financial Times. He was previously Global Media Editor at the publication.


Michael O'Dwyer, The Daily Telegraph


Michael O'Dwyer has joined The Daily Telegraph as a Business Reporter. He was previously a Freelance Reporter and Features Writer at City AM.


Lauren Silva Laughlin, The Wall Street Journal


Lauren Silva Laughlin has joined the Wall Street Journal as a Senior Columnist for Heard on the Street, covering energy and industrial companies. She was previously a Columnist for Reuters Breakingviews.


Cara Lombardo, The Wall Street Journal


Cara Lombardo is now an M&A Reporter at the Wall Street Journal, replacing Dana Mattioli who will soon be leaving the role to cover Amazon. Cara previously covered activist investors and hedge funds for the publication.


Faisal Islam, Sky News


Faisal Islam's arrival as the BBC's new Economics Editor has been delayed till June. He is currently Political Editor at Sky News. He is to replace Kamal Ahmed who has started as Editorial Director at BBC News.


Martin Beckford, The Sun


Martin Beckford has now started his new role as Whitehall Editor at The Sun. He was previously Home Affairs Editor at The Mail on Sunday.


Tortoise Media launched on the 2nd April


Tortoise Media, co-founded by James Harding, Katie Vanneck-Smith and Matthew Barzun, launches today. The publication aims to focus on "slow news", taking time to investigate and produce in-depth news stories instead of focusing on breaking news. Tortoise intends to offer "a concise point of view - informing, and informed by, you. A place, in the real world and the digital one, where you can come, learn and tell us what you think."


Luke Tugby, Retail Week


Luke Tugby has been appointed Deputy Editor at Retail Week. He was previously Head of Content and Deputy News Editor at the publication.


Janine Gibson, Financial Times


Janine Gibson is joining the Financial Times' editorial leadership team as an Assistant Editor and Editor, Special Reports.


Andrew Peaple, The Wall Street Journal


Andrew Peaple left his role as Asia Markets Editor and Editor of Heard on the Street (Asia) for the Wall Street Journal. He will be taking some time out before beginning a new role in London, with further details to be announced upon arrival.
